BIOGRAPHY

After Completing my Pharm.D. degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I completed post-doctoral training in neuropsychopharmacy at the University of Florida/VA medical centers. Following this training, I served a six year dual appointment at Howard University as Assistant professor of Pharmacy and Psychiatry in the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine.  During my tenure at Howard University I taught in various colleges including the College of Pharmacy, Medicine , Nursing and the Graduate Program in Social Work.  At Howard University I received training in Biomedical Ethics and co-developed the universityĆ¢s first multi-disciplinary  course in Biomedical ethics as well as  developing the first Clinical Psychopharmacology course for fourth year pharmacy and third year  medical students rotating through psychiatry.  My research interests are focused on  the etiological determinants of affective and psychotic disorders as well as their treatments. At Xavier University my current research interests  include Prevention of Prescription drug abuse. Here at Xavier I have had the opportunity to receive additional training in  ambulatory and internal medicine pharmacy. Currently I practice in ambulatory care and serve as a consultant in clinical psychopharmacology to a mental health facility and as an expert witness to the New Orleans Court system.  I also serve on the board of directors of the United Services for Aids foundation.
