After Completing my Pharm.D. degree from the University
of Nebraska Medical Center. I completed post-doctoral training in
neuropsychopharmacy at the University of Florida/VA medical centers.
Following this training, I served a six year dual appointment at Howard
University as Assistant professor of Pharmacy and Psychiatry in the Colleges
of Pharmacy and Medicine. During my tenure at Howard University I taught in
various colleges including the College of Pharmacy, Medicine , Nursing and
the Graduate Program in Social Work. At Howard University I received
training in Biomedical Ethics and co-developed the universityâs first
multi-disciplinary course in Biomedical ethics as well as developing the
first Clinical Psychopharmacology course for fourth year pharmacy and third
year medical students rotating through psychiatry. My research interests
are focused on the etiological determinants of affective and psychotic
disorders as well as their treatments. At Xavier University my current
research interests include Prevention of Prescription drug abuse. Here at
Xavier I have had the opportunity to receive additional training in
ambulatory and internal medicine pharmacy. Currently I practice in
ambulatory care and serve as a consultant in clinical psychopharmacology to
a mental health facility and as an expert witness to the New Orleans Court
system. I also serve on the board of directors of the United Services for
Aids foundation. My personal interests include mentoring youths and the
arts. |
