Dr. Ariane Conrad is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical and Administrative Sciences (DCAS) at Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy. Dr. Conrad earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Xavier University of Louisiana. After graduating, she completed an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency in Pharmacy Practice at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, Arkansas. She has also earned board certification in ambulatory care (BCACP) from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties and a fellow designation (FASCP) from the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Prior to joining the faculty, Dr. Conrad was a clinical pharmacist in internal medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. In that position, she also served as a clinical preceptor for APPE rotation students for Xavier.
Dr. Conrad currently teaches in the Pharmacy Practice course for students in their third year of the professional program. She also serves as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist at the Stroke and Heart Attack Prevention (SHAP) clinic and the Obesity Weight Loss Management Bariatric (OWL MBA) clinic at the LSU Interim Public Hospital in New Orleans. She provides patient centered care in the areas of obesity, diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia while also serving as a preceptor to APPE and IPPE clerkship students. She also serves as a preceptor for PGY-1 pharmacy residents.
Dr. Conrad is a member of multiple professional associations including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), the Louisiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists (LSHP), and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
Dr. Conrad's areas of interest for research include weight management, diabetes, and minority health disparities.
