High School Initiative
The purpose of the Centers of Excellence High School Initiative is to enhance the competitiveness of a local pool of African-American high school students interested in health science majors.  Ultimately, it is our goal to increase the number of minority students who enter into the health professions and Xavier University College of Pharmacy. 

Summer Enrichment Program
The Summer Enrichment Program is a four-week session designed to grant a small group of  high school students interested in pharmacy a broader perspective of the academic requirements and exposure to various career opportunities in pharmacy. The academic objective of the Summer Enrichment Program is to reinforce math and science concepts learned throughout the school year and introduce new content material. The program starts the first week of June and classes will be held Monday through Friday from 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m.

Dates: June 1-26

COE High School Initiative Activities Include:

  • Laboratory Experiments
  • Classroom Exercises
  • Educational Field Trips

Eligibility for Summer Enrichment Program:

  • Cumulative  GPA 2.00
  • Current 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade students

Admission Criteria:

  • Photocopy of social security card and insurance card (will be required at orientation session once accepted)
  • Copy of your high school transcript (indicating your cum. gpa)
  • 150 word typed Statement of Interest
  • One letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher
