Pre-Pharmacy Requirements
seporator

Students wishing to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree through Xavier’s College of Pharmacy must complete 66 credit hoursof pre-requisite courses (see table below) prior to being admitted to the Pharm.D. program. The pre-pharmacy requirements may be completed at Xavier University or any accredited university.

In order to be considered for admission to the Pharm.D. program, students must have grades of “C” (2.00/4.00) or better in all of the pre-pharmacy courses.  A grade of “C-“is not acceptable.  Also, students must possess a minimum cumulative 2.75 grade point average in all of the pre-requisite courses and a minimum 2.75 grade point average in the required math and science courses.

The College of Pharmacy will use each grade (including Ds and Fs) received in any of the pre-requisite course work to calculate the cumulative and the math-science grade point average.  For example, if a student receives a “D” and an “A” in an Organic Chemistry course, then both grades will be used to calculate the cumulative and math-science grade point average.

All of the pre-requisite course work must be completed on or before August 4, 2015.  Any student who has more than seven hours of course work to complete at the end of the Spring 2015 semester will no longer be considered for admissions to the College.
