Short Professional Biography

Dr. Goyal received his B.Sc. (Honors) in Chemistry in 2002 and M.Sc. (Honors) in Chemistry in 2004 from Panjab University, India and then he worked for two years (2004-2006) at Aurigene Discovery Technology, a pharmaceutical company at Bangalore, India. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2011 under the guidance of Professor Guijun Wang at the University of New Orleans, where he worked on the synthesis and biological evaluation of aeruginosin 298-A as potential new thrombin inhibitors and also studied the self-assembly system of sugar based molecules. He then did his Postdoctoral research at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Ridgefield, CT (2011-2012), under the direct supervision of Drs. Chris H Senanayake and Steve Han. At BI he explored the new synthetic methodology for synthesis of new phosphorus based ligand and synthesis of chiral sulfinamides and its use in the asymmetric synthesis.
