Short Professional Biography

Dr. Adams graduated with a BA in Chemistry from Colby College in 1983, where his undergraduate research experience involved natural product synthesis.  He received his Ph. D. in Inorganic Chemistry from The Ohio State University in 1990.  Working under the direction of Dr. Andrew Wojcicki, his research involved synthesis and reactivity of novel iron and ruthenium phosphido-bridged complexes.  Following stints as a Lecturer at both Ohio State and Otterbein College, Dr. Adams was a member of the faculty at Morehead State University in Morehead, KY, from 1990 – 1998.  He was appointed to his current position at Xavier in 1998.  Dr. Adams is an active member of the American Chemical Society and serves as advisor for Xavier’s award-winning Chem Club.
