Students may be placed on restricted schedules upon admission to the University or by the Academic Standing Committee because of their academic performance. If a student is placed on a restricted schedule, this means that the number of hours the student takes is restricted to either 12 (or 13) s.h. or to 15 (or 16) s.h. The specific restriction is always listed on the academic data sheet in the case of freshman and on the letter from the Dean in the case of returning students. The Academic Standing Committee may place a student on academic probation. Strict Probation restricts a student to 12 s.h., and Probation restricts the student to 15 s.h.
The Academic Standing Committee has also determined that any student will be kept on a restricted schedule until all required developmental courses are successfully completed.
