RECRUITMENT PROCEDURES

We welcome employers to recruit our students through a variety of methods, e.g., on-campus interviews, info sessions, recruitment table, etc.   Please call us at (504) 520-7364 or email Marian Minnard at mminnard@xula.edu and we will be happy to make appropriate arrangements for your visit, including equipment, food, etc.

The recruitment calendar is published at least two weeks prior to your scheduled visit.  Students sign up for on-campus interviews on a first-come, first-served basis.  Schedules are monitored and we will notify you of overflow or insufficient sign-ups.

The morning of your visit we will provide resumes of all students to interview.  Unofficial transcripts will be available, if desired, but should be requested in advance.  Please notify us if you would like your schedules prior to your visit.  Due to the time factor and confusion that might arise in altering a schedule once a student has signed up, we ask that if you must change the time of your interviews, please notify us as soon as possible.  If you would like to publicize your visit in our student newspaper, email the Xavier Herald at herald@xula.edu.

ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWS

The Office of Career Services is located in Room 302 of the St. Joseph Academic & Health Resource Center.  Interviews are scheduled at half-hour intervals and begin at 9:00 a.m.; lunch is generally from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.; the last interview is at 4:30 p.m.  We will be happy to make any time adjustments to your schedule, as well as coordinate lunch meetings with faculty if desired.  As you interview, we ask you to rate each candidate in the categories listed on our Interview Evaluation Form.

Exit Interview

Following your last interview, a staff member will be available to conduct an exit interview with you.  At this time we would like to discuss your recruitment visit.  We would appreciate copies of any follow-up correspondence sent to students, as we keep statistics on second interviews, job offers, etc.

We hope your recruitment experience at Xavier University will be a pleasant one!
