The Biology Department is the largest on Xavier's campus with 22 full-time faculty. If you are interested in a challenging career as a future leader in medicine, dentistry, research, science education, allied health, veterinary medicine, microbiology or ecology, consider majoring in biology.

All biology majors receive a strong foundation in the required General Biology, Evolution/Ecology, Microbiology and Genetics courses. Elective courses tailor the educational experience to each student's future goals. Electives are offered in diverse areas such as Anatomy and Physiology, Immunology, Molecular Genetics, Botany, Ecology, Cell Biology and Virology.
