BRIEFLY: Returning letter-winner . . . Transferred from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette after her sophomore year.
2005: Xavier did not compete in athletics because of the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
2004: Ran in all six meets and was the Gold Nuggets' fastest finisher in the first three . . . Recorded her best 5,000-meter time (20:29.71) and highest finish (fifth) in the Alabama A&M Homecoming Classic on Oct. 9.
UL LAFAYETTE: Scored as a freshman and sophomore in the Sun Belt Conference indoor track and field meet . . . Helped the Ragin' Cajuns place sixth in the distance medley relay (12:44.98) her first year, then finished sixth in the 800-meter run (2:19.96) the next . . . Made the Sun Belt's academic honor roll her sophomore year.
HIGH SCHOOL: A standout in cross country, track and volleyball and a member of state-championship squads in all three sports . . . In cross country she finished in the top five three times at the state meet (third in Class B-C as a sophomore, second in Class B as a junior, fourth in Class B as a senior), was all-Acadiana twice (2000 and 2001) and helped the Lady Falcons win the state title her sophomore year (1999) . . . Ran second in state four days after recording 17 kills in the 2000 Division V volleyball state championship match, which the Falcons won . . . Had 336 kills, 232 digs, 45 blocks and 37 aces her senior year of volleyball (2001) and was all-Acadiana . . . In outdoor track she was a three-time Class B state champion in the 800-meter run and a four-time champion in the 400-meter dash . . . Earned co-outstanding performer award at 2001 state meet after setting Class B meet records in the 400 (58.67) and 800 (2:20.40) and 1,600 relay (4:12.77), finishing second in the 200 (27.14) and leading her team to a third consecutive Class B outdoor championship . . . Fourth in the 400 (1:02.39) at the 2000 indoor state track meet against runners from all classifications . . . Was the Lafayette Advertiser newspaper's small-school girls track athlete of the year her senior season (2002).
