Claudia Haywood of Memphis, Tenn.,
Darian Harris of Gretna, La., and
Patrice Smith of Glenn Heights, Texas, have signed
with the Gold Nuggets for 2012.
The Record:
Xavier was 23-7 overall and 10-0 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in 2011. The Gold Nuggets were
the GCAC regular-season and tournament champion. The Gold Nuggets set records in 2011
for victories, consecutive victories (8 — twice), home victories (8), conference victories,
victories on opponents' courts (6) and winning percentage (.767). Xavier was 11-26 overall and 3-3 in the
GCAC a year ago.

The Gold Nuggets' Chinedu Echebelem, Patrice Hightower, Moira Kirk and Taylor Reuther earned that
honor in 2011. Kirk also was chosen GCAC Freshman of the Year, and Christabell Hamilton
shared GCAC Coach of the Year with Tougaloo's Shandrea Taylor. story
New Coach in 2011:
On June 14 Xavier announced the hiring of Christabell
Hamilton as head coach. Hamilton replaced
Al'lisa Hale.
NAIA Scholar-Athlete:
The Gold Nuggets' Danielle Jones was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive
academic year. Jones is headed to medical school in the fall of 2011.

Under Xavier's current head coaches (all sports), 100 of 105 senior student-athletes received degrees from Xavier or are still enrolled.
