Next:   The Gold Nuggets will play 12th-ranked Lindsey Wilson at 6:30 p.m. CST on Saturday, November 22 in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. The venue will be Biggers Sports Center in Columbia, Ky. XU qualified for nationals for the fourth consecutive year.

The Record:   Xavier is 20-5 overall and 14-0 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and won its fourth consecutive GCAC regular-season and tournament championships.

Next Home Match:   2015 season. Thank you for your support in 2014, when home attendance improved 9.6 percent from the previous season.

Most Recently:   Xavier won 25-9, 25-19, 25-17 at home against SUNO in the GCAC Tournament championship match.

All-GCAC:   Chinedu Echebelem, Claudia Haywood and Franziska Pirkl were first-team selections in 2014. Darian Harris made the second team.

  •  Home:  Won 5 in a row
  •  Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Regular Season:  Won 48 in a row
  •  Overall vs. GCAC Opponents:  Won 59 in a row (including tournaments)
  •  Against HBCUs:  Won 57 in a row (and 63 of the last 65)

In 2013:   Xavier was 26-8 overall — that's a school record for victories in a season — and 12-0 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The Gold Nuggets were unbeaten in the GCAC for the third consecutive regular season. They also set a school record with a 20-match win streak.

A Proud Tradition:   Under Xavier's current head coaches (all sports), 125 of 130 senior student-athletes received degrees from Xavier or are still enrolled.

2011 GCAC Tournament champions

Xavier finished 23-7 in 2011, won its first GCAC regular-season and tournament championships and made its first appearance in the NAIA National Championship. The winning season was the Gold Nuggets' first.

 

 
Gulf Coast Athletic Conference

National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics
The Xavier Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets compete in Division I of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) as a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC). Xavier fields men's teams in basketball, cross country, tennis and track and field and women's teams in basketball, cross country, tennis, track and field and volleyball.
