Her 27 points in a Dec. 3 victory at Loyola are the most in a game by a Gold Nugget since January 2010, and her 11 assists in a home victory against SUNO on Jan. 11 are the most for Xavier since the start of the 2003-04 season.
Gauthier, a 5-6 senior from Lake Charles, La., and a graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School, averages 8.3 points, leads the Nuggets with 66 steals and is second on the team with 25 made 3-pointers, 93 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game. Gauthier is one of five in the program's history to reach 600 points, 400 rebounds, 200 assists and 200 steals in a career.
Both Gathright and Gauthier rank among the top 35 in NAIA Division I in steals per game.
Tougaloo senior Portia Craft was voted Player of the Year. Talladega senior Jamie Robinson was chosen Newcomer of the Year, and Jamila Burgos of Voorhees is Freshman of the Year. Philander Smith's Brandon Greenwood was voted Coach of the Year, which ended the four-year streak of Xavier's Bo Browder.
