XU-Dillard Crosstown Classic tickets available Monday

2013 Crosstown Classic      February 17, 2013

     NEW ORLEANS — Tickets for the Crosstown Classic, a basketball doubleheader involving city rivals Xavier University of Louisiana and Dillard, will go on sale Monday.
     Reserved tickets, priced at $5, will be sold at the Convocation Center box office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and be available through Thursday during those same hours. Tickets purchased on game day will cost $10.
     Students can pick up one free ticket with a valid XU ID from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday at the Student Activities Office in room 208 (second floor) of the University Center. The free tickets also will be available through Thursday. Students may also purchase additional tickets for $5 each through Thursday. Student tickets on Saturday will cost $10.
     The Crosstown Classic will be played Saturday (Feb. 23) at XU's Convocation Center, which opened in November. The women's game will start at 3 p.m., followed by the men's game at 5. Both XU teams begin the week tied for first place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The Dillard games will be the regular-season finale for both schools.
     No tickets will be sold on Friday. On Saturday, the Convocation Center box office will open at 2 p.m.

The Xavier Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets compete in Division I of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) as a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC). Xavier fields men's teams in basketball, cross country, tennis and track and field and women's teams in basketball, cross country, tennis, track and field and volleyball.
