Gold Nuggets 14th in NAIA for second consecutive week

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
is 14th for the second consecutive week in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball
Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The rankings, the seventh of 13 this season, were announced
Tuesday afternoon.
The Gold Nuggets maintained their position after
recording a pair of Gulf Coast Athletic Conference victories: 63-41 at home
against Fisk on Jan. 21 and 64-54 Saturday at longtime city rival Dillard.
Xavier extended its win streak to four Monday with a 76-58 non-conference
victory at Mobile.
Voting was based on games through Sunday.
The Nuggets are in the top 25 for the 38th consecutive time
dating to Jan. 25, 2010. They've ranked 14th or higher in every poll this season
after ranking 16th in the final poll of 2011-12.
Xavier will play its next three games at home:
6 p.m. Thursday against William Carey, 2 p.m. Saturday against GCAC co-leader
Talladega and 5:30 p.m. Monday against Edward Waters.
