Nuggets sweep at Dillard for 2nd straight 10-0 GCAC run

NEW ORLEANS — Taylor Reuther had 18 kills, two
aces and eight digs Satuday to lead Xavier University of Louisiana to a 25-18,
25-19, 25-19 women's volleyball victory against Dillard which completed the
Gold Nuggets' second consecutive unbeaten run through the Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference regular season.
The Gold Nuggets (18-7, 10-0) will be top seeded in the
GCAC Tournament, which will begin Thursday in Little Rock, Ark.
Chinedu Echebelem had nine kills, three aces and 13 digs,
Moira Kirk had eight kills, and Jodi Chatters had 11 digs for Xavier, which swept
the Lady Bleu Devils (5-12, 4-6) for the first time at Dillard's Dent Hall.
Xavier scored eight consecutive points to erase Dillard's
17-13 first-set lead. Reuther, who hit .500 in 30 attacks, ended the match with
a kill. Reuther recorded seven kills in each of the final two sets.
