ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets fall two places to 24th in coaches poll
|
March 8, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
dropped two places to 24th Tuesday in the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
The Gold Nuggets (2-6) have appeared in 44
consecutive top 25s dating to Feb. 25, 2004. But of greater concern
to the XU women is another streak — four consecutive losses. They haven't beaten
anyone since Feb. 11 and haven't won a singles or doubles match
in their last three duals.
Four of Xavier's six losses are to NCAA Division I
opponents, including state rivals LSU, Tulane and Nicholls State, and
another loss came Friday on the road against NAIA top-10 Vanguard.
Of the teams ranked 18-25 in the previous poll,
four dropped and one fell out of the top 25.
The Gold Nuggets' next match will be Friday
at Montgomery, Ala., in the AUM Invitational. The host school, second-ranked Auburn
Montgomery, has yet to announce the event's schedule.
Defending national champion Fresno Pacific is
No. 1 for the third consecutive poll. The next poll will be announced March 22.
