XU's Warren is GCAC Player of the Week for third time

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's
Christina Warren is the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week
in women's basketball for the third time this season.
Warren, a 5-foot-9 forward/guard from
Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and a graduate of Los Osos High School and
Chaffey College, led Xavier with 16 points, including three 3-pointers, in a 59-54
home victory Saturday
against Dillard in the Crosstown Classic. Warren also had three steals,
and she made a 3-pointer during a 6-0 run to start the second half
and give Xavier the lead for good.
Warren leads Xavier, 24-6 and No. 20 in NAIA Division
I, with 12 points per game and 36 made 3-pointers in 30 games with 28 starts.
The Gold Nuggets' next game will be Friday in the GCAC Tournament semifinals at Jacksonville, Fla.
