ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Rush still 14th; two top-10 teams next on schedule
|
February 22, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
maintained its No. 14 ranking in the NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll
announced Tuesday.
The Gold Rush (7-2) have two victories against
NCAA Division I opponents and another against NAIA member Martin Methodist,
which remained 17th.
The XU men have appeared in 26 consecutive polls
dating to April 4, 2007, and it's the 17th straight time dating to April 30,
2008, that the Gold Rush are among the top 18.
There are no newcomers in this week's top 25, and
there virtually was no movement. But Xavier will attempt an upward climb
when it plays No. 7 Vanguard in its next match March 4 at Costa Mesa,
Calif. The Rush also will play No. 8 Westmont during that trip March 7,
but it will occur after conference and unaffiliated group coaches
submit their next ratings.
This is the second of eight polls this season
and the first since Feb. 1. The next poll will be announced March 8.
