ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets maintain No. 22 position in coaches poll
|
February 22, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
remained 22nd Tuesday in the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Poll
and extended its lengthy streak of consecutive appearances.
The Gold Nuggets (2-4) have appeared in 43
consecutive top 25s dating to Feb. 25, 2004. They have victories
against NAIA opponents Tougaloo and Our Lady of the Lake and have
lost three times to NCAA Division I opponents.
Xavier was one of 14 teams to maintain its
ranking from the preseason poll of Feb. 1. Twelve of the top 15 teams
are in the same spot as last time. Belhaven is the lone newcomer
this week; the Lady Blazers replaced Georgetown (Ky.) at No. 25.
Defending national champion Fresno Pacific is
No. 1 for the second consecutive poll.
The Gold Nuggets' next match will start at 1 p.m.
Sunday at LSU, and it will be the first tennis meeting between the schools.
Then the Nuggets will travel to California, where they'll play No. 4
Vanguard on March 4 and a second opponent to be determined.
The next poll will be announced March 8.
