ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets fall five places to land at 21st in NAIA poll
|
February 21, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
dropped five more places Monday in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25
and landed at No. 21.
The Gold Nuggets (23-6) have fallen nine places in
the last two polls after reaching their highest position since 2005.
Xavier lost 63-59 at Mobile on Thursday —
the Nuggets' second loss in three games — then won 72-58 at home
Saturday against SUNO.
The Nuggets have one regular-season game
remaining — 5 p.m. Saturday against Dillard in the Crosstown
Classic at The Barn — before traveling to Jacksonville, Fla.,
for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference tournament the following
week. The Nuggets will play in the first round March 3 or have
a first-round bye and play in the semifinals March 4. Seedings
and pairings will be announced next week.
For the second straight week there are
no new teams in the top 25. The top four teams — Union (Tenn.),
Oklahoma City, Azusa Pacific and Campbellsville — are in the
same positions as last week. SUNO received votes for the seventh
straight week and is 33rd.
