ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets 16th in NAIA poll after falling four places
|
February 14, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — One week after reaching its highest
position in six years in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25,
Xavier University of Louisiana took its biggest drop of the season Monday.
The Gold Nuggets (22-5) are 16th after falling four spots.
It's the third time in the five weeks that they've landed on that number.
Xavier lost 60-51 at William Carey this past Monday,
then roared back Saturday with a 55-32 victory at Tougaloo.
"It's a simple formula — just keep winning,"
Xavier Coach Bo Browder said. "Just keep working hard, just stay focused
and keep winning. Winning takes care of everything. Everybody knows the
formula, but making it happen is much more difficult. It's never easy,
especially on the road."
Xavier made the biggest move in either direction.
No once else climbed or fell more than two spots. The top 25 contains the
same teams as last week, and the top two —
Union (Tenn.) and Oklahoma City — and the final nine are in the same
positions as a week ago.
The Gold Nuggets will play Mobile on Thursday in
their final regular-season road game, then close with two in a row at The
Barn. SUNO, 18-2 and still among the others receiving votes (29th place),
will visit the XU women at 5 p.m. Saturday.
