ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Rush return to top 10 for the first time in five weeks
|
February 7, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — For the first time in five weeks
and the third time this season, Xavier University of Louisiana is in the top 10
of the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25.
The poll was released Monday, about two hours before
Xavier's game at Spring Hill.
The Gold Rush climbed to 10th after two consecutive
weeks at No. 11. Last week XU's men won 71-52 at home against Belhaven and 89-75
at Dillard to extend their win streak to eight games.
Xavier's highest position this season was ninth on Dec. 13.
The other Gulf Coast Athletic Conference team in the
top 25, Tougaloo, climbed one spot to 21st, its highest position of the season.
Tougaloo will play host to Xavier at 7 p.m. Saturday and is 3-0 since its
77-67 loss at Xavier on Jan. 22.
Robert Morris (Chicago) is No. 1 for the third straight
week, again edging Concordia (Calif.) by three points for the top spot. The first-place
votes were the same as a week ago, with Robert
Morris receiving seven and Concordia the other five. Montana Western, Pikeville
and Montana State Northern replaced St. Catharine, Westminster (Utah) and
Lewis-Clark State in the top 25.
