ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Nuggets climb two more spots to reach 12th in NAIA poll
|
February 7, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana is
No. 12 in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 after climbing
two places for the second straight week.
The poll was announced Monday afternoon, a little less than
two hours before the tip-off of the Gold Nuggets' game at William Carey.
It's the highest ranking for the Gold Nuggets
since Feb. 15, 2005, when they were 11th. Xavier was 2-0
last week, winning 77-60 at home against Belhaven and rallying late
for a 72-68 victory at Dillard.
Xavier was one of four teams from last week's top 25
to climb two or more places. Union (Tenn.), the lone unbeaten team and two-time
defending national champion, is No. 1 for the 44th consecutive time.
SUNO, the other Gulf Coast Athletic Conference
team receiving votes, collected 25 points, 19 more than a week ago,
to reach 28th place, its best ranking of the season. SUNO is 2-0 since Xavier
gave the Lady Knights their only loss of the season.
Xavier's other game this week will start at 5 p.m.
Saturday at GCAC opponent Tougaloo. The Nuggets' next home game will tip off
at 5 p.m. Feb. 19 against SUNO.
