ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Rush win at Spring Hill, extend streak to 9 games
February 7, 2011
Box score
MOBILE, Ala. — Chris Iles scored 16 points and
Michael Harvey 15 Monday to lead NAIA No. 10 Xavier University of Louisiana to
a 65-54 men's basketball victory over Spring Hill.
The victory was the ninth in a row for the Gold Rush
(23-2). Xavier swept the two-game regular-season series against the Badgers (7-13)
for the first time since 2004-05.
Iles made 4-of-6 3-pointers and tied his season scoring
high for the second consecutive game. Harvey scored in double figures for the
second straight game — the first time that's happened since late December.
Xavier, outscored 15-8 in the first seven minutes,
rallied to lead 30-26 at halftime. Jeremy Lee scored the final four points of the
half to put the Gold Rush ahead to stay.
Iles' 3-pointer with 3:25 remaining gave Xavier its biggest
lead, 58-42.
Xavier outshot the Badgers 50 to 40.9 percent from the
floor — the Gold Rush made 8-of-17 3-pointers — and had a 32-24 rebound
advantage.
Nick Brown scored 16 points and Tyler Schwab 10 for
Spring Hill, which has lost three straight and 10 of its last 12 games.
Xavier, which climbed one spot in the national coaches
poll Monday, will travel to No. 21 Tougaloo for a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference
game at 7 p.m. Saturday. The next XU home game will start at 7 p.m. Feb. 19
against SUNO.
