Rush, Nuggets defeat Tougaloo for 1st wins of the season

     NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's men's and women's teams both won seven matches in dual victories Saturday against Tougaloo at the University of New Orleans.
     The XU men won 7-0, and the XU women won 7-2.
     The Gold Rush (1-1, 1-0 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference), ranked 14th in the NAIA, have won 46 consecutive GCAC regular-season dual matches. The Gold Nuggets (1-1, 1-0), ranked 22nd, have won 11 straight and 65 of their last 66 conference duals.
     Xavier dropped a combined three games in the men's dual and five games in the women's.
     Winning 6-0, 6-0 in singles were Hassan Abbas and Amir Rahbar of the Gold Rush and Carmen Nelson, Amber Brown and Nicole DeLoach of the Gold Nuggets.
     Both Tougaloo teams are 0-2, 0-1 GCAC. They lost earlier in the day to Loyola.
     Xavier will travel to Prairie View, Texas, for three men's matches and two women's matches next week.
