Xavier dual matches postponed again because of the cold
February 3, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's
men's and women's tennis dual matches against West Alabama, scheduled for
Thursday at the University of New Orleans, were postponed due to cold weather.
XU Coach Alan Green said the matches will be rescheduled,
but no date has been determined.
Temperatures were in the upper 30s —
with wind chills in the upper 20s — for the second straight afternoon. That's
a sharp contrast from Friday, when the XU men began their opener in 69-degree
weather.
It's the third postponement in five days for Xavier,
whose men's and women's duals against Loyola were rained out Sunday and whose
Wednesday women's dual against Southeastern Louisiana was scrapped because of the cold.
XU's men and women will play Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference opponent Tougaloo at 2 p.m. Saturday at UNO.
