ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

NEW ORLEANS — Taylor Reuther, a three-time All-State
performer for St. Mary's Dominican High School in New Orleans, signed
a women's volleyball scholarship Wednesday with Xavier University of Louisiana.
Reuther is the Gold Nuggets' first signee of 2011.
"Taylor Reuther is such a huge addition to our program,"
XU Coach Al'lisa Hale said. "She has a great attitude, displays tremendous leadership
and is a really knowledgeable player."
Reuther is a 5-foot-7 outside hitter and libero from
suburban Metairie. She led Dominican in 2010 to second place in the Division I
state playoffs and the school's first berth in the finals since 2003. Reuther recorded
444 kills, 303 digs, 85 aces and 58 blocks as a senior and had four-year totals of
1,517 kills, 1,438 digs, 366 aces and 98

blocks. She was District 7-I Co-Player of the Year, All-Metro and the Clarion Herald's
Player of the Year.
An honor-roll student multiple times at Dominican,
Reuther scored a composite 28 on the ACT and will be a pre-pharmacy major at Xavier.
"I chose Xavier because it has a really good pharmacy program,
and I like Coach Hale a lot," Reuther said.
