ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Rush win 2 more to reach 11th in NAIA Division I Top 25
|
January 25, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Another week, another climb of
one spot for Xavier University of Louisiana in the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches'
Top 25.
The Gold Rush moved up to 11th in the poll, which
was released late Monday afternoon and a couple of hours before the tip-off
of Xavier's 69-63 home victory against Mobile.
The XU men justified their move with two home
victories: 64-58 against Spring Hill and 77-67 against then-No. 21 Tougaloo.
The Bulldogs dropped one spot to 22nd, and it's the fourth week there are
two Gulf Coast Athletic Conference teams in the top 25.
Xavier is 19-2 for the first time since the 2003-04
season after beating Mobile. The next Gold Rush game will start at
7 p.m. Saturday against city, GCAC and HBCU rival SUNO at The Castle.
Robert Morris (Chicago), the No. 1 team on Dec. 6 and 13,
received nine of 12 first-place votes and returned to No. 1. LSU-Shreveport, the No. 1 team the past two weeks,
dropped to third after its first loss of the season, a 94-91 decision
at Our Lady of the Lake in which the Saints made two 3-pointers
in the final 14 seconds.
