ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets remain 16th, await trip to unbeaten SUNO
|
January 25, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
is 16th for the second consecutive week in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball
Coaches' Top 25.
The Gold Nuggets, in their only game of the week,
won 78-50 at home against Tougaloo in their Gulf Coast Athletic Conference
opener. That clinched a school-record 10th consecutive winning season.
The XU women improved to 18-4 on Monday — about
three hours after the sixth poll
of the season was announced — with a come-from-behind 48-47 home
victory against Mobile.
Xavier has been in the top 25 of every poll this season,
with its highest position 15th on Dec. 13.
The other GCAC team receiving votes,
SUNO, will play host to Xavier at 5 p.m. Saturday at The Castle.
The Lady Knights are 16-0 and 31st in the ratings for the second straight
week.
Two-time defending national champion
Union (Tenn.) is No. 1 for the 42nd consecutive
week. The top four teams — Union, Oklahoma City, Campbellsville
and Freed-Hardeman — are the same as last week.
