ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Rush climb to 12th place in NAIA Division I Top 25
|
January 17, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
climbed one place to 12th in the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches'
Top 25 announced Monday.
The Gold Rush have been ranked in all five polls
this season. On Saturday the XU men will play their first ranked NAIA opponent
of the season: Tougaloo, which climbed two places to 21st. The game, scheduled
for 7 p.m. at The Barn, will be the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference opener
for both teams.
Xavier is 17-2 for the first time since the 2003-04
season after its 64-58 home victory Monday against Spring Hill. The game
tipped off about three hours after the poll's release.
The Gold Rush have a 15-game home win streak, which
dates to last season, and Tougaloo has won five straight on the road since
Christmas. The Bulldogs will play host to Texas College on Wednesday.
LSU-Shreveport received 11 of 12 first-place
votes and is No. 1 for the second consecutive week. The top six teams
are in the same position as a week ago.
