ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets move up to 16th in NAIA Division I Top 25
|
January 17, 2011
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
climbed one place to 16th in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball
Coaches' Top 25 on Monday.
The Gold Nuggets (16-4) enhanced their resumé with
a pair of double-digit home wins last week — 56-41 against William
Carey and 77-52 against city rival Loyola, which received one vote in
this week's poll.
Xavier has been ranked in all five polls this season.
The Gold Nuggets have double-digit home victories against No. 10 Lee (Tenn.) and No. 18 Langston.
Union (Tenn.) is No. 1 for the 41st consecutive
week. It's the fourth straight week that the Lady Bulldogs received
every first-place vote.
The XU women will continue a four-game home stand
at 5 p.m. Saturday when they play Tougaloo at The Barn. It will
be the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
XU's women have won 37 of their last 42 games,
and they lead NAIA Division I in scoring defense with 48.2 points allowed
per game. Xavier was No. 1 in the same category last season.
