In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Nuggets' defense keeps low profile against Concordia
January 6, 2011
Box score
NEW ORLEANS — Keldra Hall scored 13 points and
Jazmoné Kelly 12 Thursday to lead NAIA No. 15 Xavier University of Louisiana to
a 67-24 women's basketball victory over Concordia (Ala.) at The Barn.
The Gold Nuggets (14-3) allowed their second fewest
points in the program's modern history. The XU women allowed 20 to Louisiana
Christian on Nov. 3, 1994.
Xavier led 39-11 at halftime and won at home for the
20th time in its last 21 games.
Concordia (0-16) shot 18 percent from the floor and
committed 41 turnovers. Xavier outrebounded the Lady Hornets 46-32, and Danielle
Kennebrew grabbed a season-high eight for the Nuggets.
Brandi Young and Christina Warren added nine points
apiece for the Gold Nuggets. Young tied her career high.
Lamanda Sanders scored six points, all in the first
half, to lead Concordia.
Xavier twice led by 45 points, the second time with 7:36 remaining when Ashley
McGill made the first of two free throws for her first points of the season.
Twelve of the 13 Nuggets scored and each of them collected at least one steal.
Kelly led the Nuggets with a season-best five steals.
It was the second straight day that Xavier won by more
than 40. The Nuggets defeated Dallas Christian 79-33 on Wednesday.
Xavier, in a stretch of four games in six days, will
travel to Jackson, Miss., for a 4 p.m. game Saturday at Belhaven. The Nuggets
will return home to play William Carey at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
