Five Xavier players earn preseason rankings from ITA

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana has
five players in the Campbell/Intercollegiate Tennis Association NAIA preseason rankings
for 2010-11.
XU's Steffen Giles-Osborn is No. 24 nationally and
10th in the South in men's singles. Giles-Osborn and Sean Richardson are 14th nationally
in

doubles and eighth in the South. Amir Rahbar is No. 25 in the South in men's singles.
Carmen Nelson and Amber Brown are 21st nationally and ninth in the South in women's doubles.
Giles-Osborn, 27th in singles and 20th in
doubles with Mikhail Vaval in the final 2009-10 rankings, is a
junior from Atlanta and a graduate of Westlake High School.
Richardson is a junior from Ellenwood, Ga., and Stockbridge
High School. Rahbar is a freshman from Houston and Memorial
High School. Nelson is a sophomore from Jonesboro, Ga., and Faith Academy, and
Brown is a freshman from Decatur, Ga., and was home-schooled.
Xavier, winner of first-round men's and women's matches at
the 2009 and 2010 NAIA National Championships, will begin the dual-match
portion of its schedule in January.
