ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets climb to 15th in NAIA Division I Top 25
|
December 13, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
climbed two spots to 15th in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball
Coaches' Top 25 on Monday.
It's the highest rank for the XU women since
being 15th in the final poll of the 2004-05 season.
The Gold Nuggets (10-2) defeated Lee (Tenn.) 59-48
at The Barn in their only game of the past week. Lee, ranked ninth at
the time of the game, dropped to 12th. Xavier has two double-digit home victories
this season against ranked opponents; the other was 62-47 on Thanksgiving night
against Langston, which is 20th this week. Xavier was 22nd and Langston 15th
the night they met.
This week the Gold Nuggets will get a third shot at a team ranked
ahead of them. They'll play No. 13 William Woods (9-0) at 2 p.m. EST Saturday
in Babson Park, Fla. It will be the third game in central Florida in as many days for Xavier,
which will play Webber International on Thursday and Southeastern (Fla.) on
Friday. Xavier's next home game will start at 6 p.m. Jan. 5 against Dallas
Christian.
XU's women have won 31 of their last 34 games.
