ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Xavier climbs to 10th in poll, then wins at Loyola
December 6, 2010
Box score
NEW ORLEANS — Jamaan Kenner and Devin Andrew
scored 13 points apiece Monday to lead NAIA No. 10 Xavier University of Louisiana
to an 85-66 men's basketball victory over city rival Loyola.
The Gold Rush, who climbed 10 spots in the national
poll announced about two hours before tip-off, are 10-0 for the first time since
1983-84 and the second time since World War II. This was Xavier's 14th consecutive
regular-season victory.
Kenner's points were a season best. Wanto Joseph added
a season-high 10 points and a career-high six assists for Xavier.
Ryan Brock scored 29 points but also committed seven
turnovers for Loyola (5-5), which dropped its fourth straight at home. Chris
Joseph scored a career-high 18 points, and Corey Gray had 10.
Andrew scored 12 points in the first half to lead the
Rush to a 45-33 advantage at the break. Xavier committed 23 turnovers but outshot
Loyola 59 to 43 percent from the floor — the Rush made 7-of-11 3-pointers —
and outrebounded the Wolfpack 32-20. Xavier had a 41-3 advantage in bench scoring.
Anthony Simmons grabbed 12 rebounds for Xavier and has
25 in the last two games.
Xavier leads the series 28-4. The teams will meet again
Jan. 15 at Xavier.
Xavier will break for fall semester final exams, then
resume its schedule at 4 p.m. Dec. 18 at William Carey. The next home game will be
