In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

November 18, 2010
Box score
NEW ORLEANS — Devin Andrew scored 15 of his
season-high 20 points in the first half Thursday to lead NAIA No. 20 Xavier
University of Louisiana to a 96-65 men's basketball victory over Jarvis Christian.
It was the eighth consecutive regular-season victory
for the Gold Rush, which is 4-0 for the seventh time in eight seasons.
Andrew scored eight points in the first 3½ minutes and
led Xavier to a 48-33 halftime advantage. Andrew, who played 18 minutes, finished
7-of-9 from the floor and made all three of his 3-pointers.
Three other Gold Rush players had season-high point totals.
Tyrone Allen and Jeremy Lee scored 15 apiece, and Kevin Miller had 10.
Sage Malone scored a season-high 18 points for Jarvis
Christian (2-2). Also with season-highs for the Bulldogs were Brian Lockett with
14 points and Anthony Crump with 12.
Jarvis Christian pulled to within 49-39 in the first
two minutes of the second half, but Xavier pulled away for good with a 13-3 run.
The Gold Rush led by 20 or more for the final 11:37.
Xavier outshot the Bulldogs 59.6 to 37.7 percent from the
floor and outrebounded them 35-24. Xavier made 34-of-50 free throws —
Jarvis Christian was 18-of-28 — and both teams committed 28 turnovers.
The Rush set a school record for free-throw attempts; the previous mark
was 49 against SUNO on Feb. 28, 1987.
Xavier will play Philander Smith for homecoming at 2 p.m.
Saturday at The Barn. Jarvis Christian will stay in town and play SUNO at
7 p.m. Saturday.
