In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

NEW ORLEANS — Christina Warren of
Xavier University of Louisiana is the first Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball for 2010-11.
Warren — a 5-foot-9 senior forward/guard
from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and a graduate of Los Osos High School
and Chaffey College — had 12 points, three rebounds and a steal Friday
in the Gold Nuggets' season-opening 55-47 home victory over Florida Memorial.
She made a pair of 3-pointers and was the Nuggets' only double-figure scorer.
Nominations and voting for the GCAC's weekly athlete awards are
conducted by the conference's sports information directors.
Xavier, ranked 22nd in NAIA Division I, will
play its next game at 5:30 p.m. Monday at LSU-Shreveport. It will be the first of
three consecutive road games for the Nuggets.
