Brenau, Asbury beat Xavier at Faulkner Invitational
October 8, 2010
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Xavier University of Louisiana
women's volleyball team lost 25-16, 18-25, 25-19, 25-14 to Brenau and 25-14, 25-6,
25-18 to Asbury on Friday in the Faulkner Invitational.
Sierra Lyons had 15 kills — her second-best total
of the season — and Celeste Poe had a season-high 16 digs for the Gold
Nuggets (4-16) against Brenau. Iva Bobkova had three aces and season highs of 18
assists and 13 digs, and Kia Kaufman had three aces and 11 digs.
No statistics were available for the match against
Asbury, which extended its winning streak to 18 straight.
Xavier will play Saturday against Martin Methodist
at 11 a.m. and Southern Wesleyan at 3 p.m. in the tournament.
