ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Voorhees changes direction, decides not to join GCAC
July 19, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced Friday that
Voorhees College decided not to accept an invitation to join the conference.
The GCAC announced March 17 that Voorhees, of Denmark, S.C.,
was one of three colleges to join for 2010-11. The other new members
are Edward Waters College of Jacksonville, Fla., and Fisk University of Nashville, Tenn.
Edward Waters and Fisk will join Southern University at New Orleans and charter members
Xavier University of Louisiana, Dillard University and Tougaloo College to give the GCAC six members for the upcoming academic year.
The Friday announcement also said that "further expansion of the GCAC remains
one of the conference's most important goals."
Voorhees will return to membership in the NAIA's Association of Independent Institutions.
