10-team Super Elite Summer League begins Wednesday
June 1, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — Five boys basketball teams from
New Orleans high schools — Brother Martin, Jesuit, McDonogh 35, O. Perry Walker and St.
Augustine — will compete with five out-of-towners in the second
annual Super Elite Summer League at The Barn.
O. Perry Walker and Xavier University of Louisiana
are sponsors of the league, which will begin Wednesday.
Joining the New Orleans schools in the 10-team league
will be Catholic (Baton Rouge), Christian Life Academy (Baton Rouge),
Ellender (Houma), Riverside Academy (Reserve) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond).
Catholic and St. Thomas Aquinas are first-time participants.
Jesuit and O. Perry Walker tied for first place
in the inaugural Super Elite Summer League with 5-1 records.
Games will be played on six consecutive Wednesdays.
