ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Xavier men 16th, women 19th in the final NAIA polls
May 4, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
maintained its positions, and the Gold Rush set a record in the final NAIA Tennis
Coaches' Top 25 Polls announced Tuesday.
XU's men (12-13) are 16th for the third consecutive
time, but it's the program's best finish in the final poll. The Gold Rush's
previous best was 17th in 2008.
XU's women (16-13) are 19th for the fifth straight
straight time. It's the Gold Nuggets' lowest finish in a final poll since
2007, when they were 21st, but it's their sixth consecutive season to finish
in the top 25.
The Gold Rush is in the final rankings for the
fifth straight season.
The Gold Nuggets
are in the top 25 for the 41st consecutive time dating to February 2004. XU's men
are ranked for the 24th consecutive time dating to April 2007.
A panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences,
independents and unaffiliated groupings voted on the polls. Xavier's Alan
Green is a voter in both polls.
Both Xavier teams defeated William Carey on
Saturday in the championship matches of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. There
are four GCAC teams in the final women's poll.
Auburn Montgomery is No. 1 for the 47th consecutive time
in the women's poll, and Fresno Pacific made it 7-for-7 this season as the No. 1 men's team.
Both Xavier teams will compete in the NAIA National
Championships at Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala., on May 18-22.
The NAIA will announce seedings and pairings by 5 p.m. CDT on May 11.
