ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana

New Orleans Tennis Center on Friday.
The Gold Nuggets (15-13), the defending GCAC

and 25th-ranked Spring Hill 5-3 in the semifinals. They'll play 20th-ranked
William Carey at 11 a.m. Saturday for the women's championship.
The Gold Rush (11-13), ranked 16th, beat Belhaven 5-1
in the men's semifinals after a first-round bye and will play William Carey
for the title at 10 a.m. Saturday. The XU men will try to win their
fifth straight GCAC title in six years.
XU's women dropped three of of their first four
matches against Spring Hill but did not lose a set thereafter. Colleen McArthur,
a singles loser to the Lady Badgers in both regular-season duals, clinched
for the Nuggets with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Alex Tovar.
Mario Myles won in singles for the first time since
March 31 and clinched for the Gold Rush with a 7-5, 6-1 victory against
Belhaven's Robby Wright.
William Carey, playing this season for the first time
since the 1990s, defeated Tougaloo 7-1 in the women's first round and Mobile
6-2 in the semifinals to extend its winning streak to nine straight. The
