ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Xavier men remain 16th, women still 19th in NAIA polls
April 20, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — The NAIA tennis coaches polls had a
familiar look when announced Tuesday, and Xavier University of Louisiana
was part of the familiarity.
XU's men (10-13) are 16th for the second consecutive
poll, and the women (13-13) are 19th for the fourth straight time.
There were no newcomers to either top 25, and 11 men's
teams and 14 women's teams were in the same position as two weeks ago.
There was no change at the top, with Auburn Montgomery leading the women for
the 46th consecutive poll and Fresno Pacific making it 6-for-6 this season
as the No. 1 men's team.
Xavier kept its poll streaks going too. The Gold Nuggets
are in the top 25 for the 40th consecutive time dating to February 2004. XU's men
are ranked for the 23rd consecutive time dating to April 2007.
Xavier is the only Gulf Coast Athletic Conference men's
team ranked, but there are four GCAC women's teams in the top 25 — Xavier, No. 20 William Carey,
No. 23 Mobile and No. 25 Spring Hill — for the second straight
time.
Both Xavier teams will compete next as No. 1 seeds
in the GCAC Tournament on April 30-May 1 at the University of New Orleans Tennis
Center. The final coaches polls will be announced May 4.
