In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Opata, Callis appear in ITA's national rankings again
April 5, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
seniors Anastesia Opata and Angelina Callis still are among the NAIA's best
women's singles and doubles players, according to Intercollegiate Tennis
Association rankings announced Monday.
Opata is 19th and Callis is 46th in singles, and
they're ninth as a doubles team.
This is the first ITA national ranking since November,
when Opata was tied for 18th and Callis was unranked in singles and the two were
14th in doubles.
Opata, from Lawrenceville, Ga., and a graduate of Central
Gwinnett High School, is 15-7 in singles this season. Callis, from Los Angeles and
a graduate of Dorchester (Mass.) High School, is 16-6 in singles. They're 14-9
in doubles.
This is the third consecutive year that Opata has been
ranked in singles and doubles. It's the second straight year that Callis has earned
a singles ranking and the third year of four she's made the doubles list.
