ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Xavier teams keep their top-25 streaks going
March 23, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — The Xavier University of Louisiana
tennis teams kept their streaks going in the NAIA coaches polls announced Tuesday.
XU's women (11-7) remained 19th and are ranked among
the top 25 for the 38th consecutive time dating to February 2004. XU's men
(9-7) dropped two places to 15th and are ranked for the 21st consecutive time
dating to April 2007.
Next for the Gold Nuggets and Gold Rush will be their
toughest challenges of the season. The Xavier teams will travel to California
to play dual matches next week against Azusa Pacific, Fresno Pacific, Vanguard
and Concordia on consecutive days. All the opponents are in the top 10, with
Fresno Pacific's men ranked first and its women No. 2.
The Nuggets' April 1 match against Concordia will be
their ninth in a row against a ranked opponent and their 10th in 11 duals. That
same day the Rush will play its eighth dual in 10 matches against ranked opponents,
and by the end of the trip the XU men will have played five of the NAIA's top
six teams this season.
For the second straight poll Xavier is one of three
Gulf Coast Athletic Conference teams in the women's top 25. But the order changed,
with William Carey moving in at 21st and Spring Hill dropping two places to 23rd.
Mobile, No. 25 two weeks ago, dropped out.
