Gold Nuggets remain 23rd in NAIA Division I Top 25
February 1, 2010

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana is 23rd for the second consecutive week in the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25.
The Gold Nuggets are 16-5 and, for the first time since the 2004-05 season, have a nine-game winning streak. They collected 95 points in the poll, 17 more than a week ago. This past week Xavier entered the top 25 for the first time in more than a year.
Xavier leads the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference by two games over LSU-Shreveport — the Nuggets are 9-0 and the Lady Pilots are 7-2 — and will play GCAC games at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill and at 5 p.m. Saturday against LSUS at The Barn. The Nuggets' most recent game was a 69-40 victory Saturday over GCAC, city and HBCU rival Dillard in the Bleu Devil Classic at Lakefront Arena.
