ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Gold Nuggets return to NAIA Division I top 25
January 26, 2010
|
NEW ORLEANS — Less than an hour before its Monday
game with Loyola, Xavier University of Louisiana returned to the NAIA Division I
Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 for the first time in more than a year.
TThe Gold Nuggets, among the "others receiving votes"
in the previous five polls of the 2009-10 season, are No. 23 after collecting 78
points. It's the first time the Xavier women have been in the top 25 since Jan.
5, 2009, when they were 22nd.
Xavier (14-5) defended its new ranking with a 60-55
victory at The Barn against Loyola, which dropped out of the top 25 after being
24th this past week. It was the Nuggets' season-high seventh consecutive
victory, and it gave them a 7-0 record in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference
and a two-game lead over LSU-Shreveport and William Carey.
The Nuggets' next game will start at 5:30 p.m. Thursday
against GCAC opponent Belhaven at The Barn to conclude a three-game home stand.
A victory would give the Nuggets their longest winning streak and their first
8-0 start in the GCAC since the 2004-05 season.
