ALMA MATER
In the Mississippi Valley,
In the Crescent Bend
Stands our loved and noble Xavier,
Far her praises send.
Refrain:
Wave her colors bear them onward
Gold and white so true
Hail to thee, all hail, dear Xavier
Hail, all hail, X.U.!
Xavier, ever be our guide
And lead us on the way,
Through life's journey, onward, upward
To the eternal day. (Refrain)

Dotson wins GCAC award for third consecutive week
September 21, 2009
NEW ORLEANS — For the third consecutive week Xavier
University of Louisiana's Mark Dotson is the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Runner
of the Week in men's cross country.
Dotson — a freshman from Alexandria, La., and a graduate
of Holy Savior Menard Central High School — ran four miles in 21 minutes, 58.7
seconds Friday to finish fourth in the Ragin' Cajuns Invitational at Lafayette, La.
It was Dotson's third top-five finish in as many collegiate meets and the third
fastest time in school history.
Dotson is the second GCAC men's runner to win the award
three consecutive times. Spring Hill's Patrick Aucoin did it in 2008, the first year
of the award.
Xavier's men and women will compete Saturday in the LSU
Invitational at Baton Rouge. La.
