Jesuit, O. Perry Walker share first in XU summer league

NEW ORLEANS — Jesuit and O. Perry Walker earned
boys basketball victories Wednesday (July 8) to finish in a first-place tie with 5-1
records in the Super Elite Summer League at The Barn.
Brady Hadden scored 14 points to lead Jesuit to
its fifth consecutive victory, 51-48 over Riverside. O. Perry Walker kept pace,
getting nine points from Jarvis Ray in a 45-41 victory over St. Augustine. It
was the Chargers' third victory by four points or less.
Xavier University of Louisiana and O. Perry Walker
sponsored the league, which had nine southeast Louisiana teams playing 23
games over six consecutive Wednesdays.
Jesuit and O. Perry Walker were the only teams to
finish above .500. They were followed by St. Augustine (3-3), Brother Martin (1-1),
Christian Life (3-4), McDonogh 35 (2-3), Ellender (2-4), Riverside (2-4) and Karr (0-2).
