California runner is third to sign with Nuggets

NEW ORLEANS — Dominique Webb of Carson, Calif.,
is the third to sign a women's cross country scholarship this year with Xavier University
of Louisiana.
Webb, 5 feet 3 and 105 pounds, is a senior at St. Mary's
Academy in Inglewood, Calif. Her best times are 21 minutes, 15 seconds for three
miles and 57.4 seconds for 400 meters. She finished fourth in the Santa Cruz League
cross country meet in 2008.
Texans
Rubeneisha Cooper of Pearland and Sabrina Vargas of Brookshire signed with

the Gold
Nuggets earlier this year.
Xavier is the three-time defending Gulf Coast Athletic Conference
champion in women's and men's cross country, and both teams qualified for the 2008 NAIA National Championships.
The Gold Rush and Gold Nuggets will begin their 2009 seasons in late August.
